A Little Police Action in NoPo

Last night just as the first rain in a month came down, the NoPo PoPo started to cordon off a four-block radius to ensnare a nare-do-well who had evaded an officer of the law after a traffic infraction. So we all became prisoners in our homes while they went door-to-door looking for some guy who ran a red light?

Where was all the action last spring when we called 911 to report the drug deal going down in our front yard at 3 am? When we called to get someone to break up the transaction the operator retorted with, "Call non-emergency." To the officer's credit (and they don't get a lot of credit in our neighborhood) when they drove up 15 minutes later, they told us that they shouldn't have told us to call non-emergency. The 4 officers (three patrol cars) promptly took the description and the officer called us 30 minutes later to let us know that they had apprehended the man who made the transaction and that he had a warrant out for his arrest for burglery.

The NoPo Popo found the traffic infractor in someone's basement in a matter of 20 minutes or so. I guess he'll think twice before he runs through that light.
